In partnership with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Support UK (formerly The Jennifer Trust) and yachtsman and disability sports ambassador Geoff Holt MBE, our 2nd WetWheels Muscle Dreams Programme (11-12 August 2014) was another outstanding success.
Despite windy conditions on the Solent, the UK’s only fully accessible powerboat enabled five lucky young people with muscular dystrophy (all in wheelchairs) and their families to enjoy the exhilarating experience that is WetWheels!
She is an accessible catamaran powerboat moored in the beautiful Gunwharf Quays Marina beneath the spectacular Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. WetWheels has twin Suzuki 300 HP outboard engines capable of driving her at 40 knots! In other words, she’s very fast!
And she’s been thoughtfully customized for use by wheelchair users, so if you would love to experience the thrill of being out on the open water in the Solent, then look out for our exciting WetWheels Muscle Dreams: CREW OF 2015 Programme that will include some unforgettable moments, delicious meals, refreshments, fabulous shopping at Gunwharf Quays, an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Portsmouth, our signature Muscle Warriors group celebratory dinner, plus a few surprises along the way!
