Launched by Herts Chamber in 2012, the response this year was phenomenal. Now in its 5th year, Inspiring Hertfordshire 2016 was even bigger. Enabling Hertfordshire businesses to showcase their performance and achievements to clients and customers, suppliers, business alliances and wider partners, the event celebrates the expertise, achievements and outstanding contribution that businesses and individuals make in the county.

MHF delivers life changing, highly personalised experiences in the UK called Muscle Dreams for children and young people with Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and allied neuromuscular conditions. Diagnosed with MD at 18yrs, McGrath is the first disabled person to have successfully led expeditions to both the North and South Poles.

Michael McGrath, CEO of MHF said:

“Winning the 2016 Inspiring Hertfordshire ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ Award for a third time is truly humbling. Thank you to Award category sponsor Stevenage Leisure Ltd, the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce and the judges for recognising our efforts. I’m thrilled that the charity’s work has once again been acknowledged in this way.

Whilst it means a great deal to win this Award, the charity desperately needs more support – this means that if you’re a business and you would like to get involved by for example adopting MHF as your Charity Partner, we would love to hear from you.

We’re also looking to grow our Trustee Board in 2017, we’re looking for Muscle Warrior fundraisers, a volunteer bid-writer to help with a few ‘local’ Trust submissions and we’re always on the lookout for savvy volunteer digital champions who can buddy-up and work on a number of tactical social projects under the direction of our appointed social media marketing partner and in the process boost their CV, acquire knowledge and meet new people.

MHF is aiming to deliver 657 Muscle Dreams, that’s one for every muscle in the human body. This Award is a great platform in helping to raise more awareness of our work; it’s testament to the outstanding support and commitment of so many people, especially our Muscle Dream Team who work so hard behind the scenes – we simply couldn’t do what we do without their support.”
