Huge congratulations to Muscle Warrior™ Stacey Hollingsworth who completed her first ever half marathon on 14th March 2010 in aid of The Muscle Help Foundation. Stacey set two goals – the first to complete the 13.1 miles is under 2.5hrs and the second to raise £1000 for her chosen charity. Her finishing time at the adidas Silverstone Half Marathon Event was 02:21:34 and she’s on course to smash her target, having already raised in excess of £800 through her Justgiving fundraising page – she is a true Muscle Warrior™.
“Crossing the finishing line was the most amazing feeling,” said Stacey pictured above proudly wearing her Muscle Warrior™ t-shirt.
“It was the thought of crossing that line and helping those children that kept me going to the very end. The best bit was running past crowds of people all cheering you on. As cheesy as it may sound, there’s no worst bit other than perhaps a little pain which really is insignificant in the great scheme of things. No pain, no gain! I’m really proud to be a Muscle Warrior™.”
Stacey goes on to say, “After a few long soaks in the tub and some deep heat, I’m ready to do it all over again in a heartbeat! Who knows, maybe even a full distance marathon next time! Sure it requires a great deal of self-motivation and determination, something those children suffering with muscular dystrophy have – I know they must fight every day of their lives. I could not be prouder to raise this money for them.”
