katehumblePole2pole is an enormously brave effort, by a courageous and determined man to reach the South Pole. In the anniversary year of Scott’s fateful journey Michael McGrath will attempt to make history by becoming the first disabled person to reach both Poles.

Michael has Muscular Dystrophy, a disease which two members of my family suffer from; a disease which wastes the muscles and robs sufferers of their mobility, independence and finally their life. By attempting this epic journey, Michael aims to raise awareness of this debilitating condition and funds to continue the search for a cure.
