Community Meatballs

Last year, our Meatballs for Muscle Dreams initiative was our new community fundraising event. The initiative sought to engage the nations appetite in raising vital funds for children and young people (8–28 yrs) with the muscle-wasting disease Muscular Dystrophy.

This year, in this new COVID-19 world, we’re asking everyone to come together on a Monday in your households, and virtually inviting those that you’re missing, to pay homage to the meatball.

Why not use your family’s favourite meatballs recipe or alternatively, click here for tasty recipes (whether vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian) from the likes of Ken Hom, Angela Hartnett, Tom Kerridge or even Trustee Sue McGrath’s fabulously delicious gluten free & lactose free meatballs dish.

Share your photos of your meatball meals and include your family’s best Muscle Warrior salute!

Be sure you include #MeatballsForMD with your photos on your social posts.

Q. How do I host a meatball party?

A. Simple – find a meatball recipe, pick a date and invite your guests!

Q. How many people do I need to invite to my meatball party?

A. As many as you like! Get people who don’t live with you, or aren’t in your bubble, involved over video chat. Either pick a recipe everyone can cook together, or if you live nearby drop your meatballs to your guests and all connect for a relaxed meal time

Q. How much do we donate?

A. We know these are strange times and we want you to spend time with your family and friends rather than worry about fundraising. If you feel able to donate we would love your support! You can donate by clicking here

Q. How do we spread the word?

A. We’d love to see your pictures and share the enjoyment of your meatball dinner parties with our beneficiaries and their families. If you’re on social media, be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #MeatballsForMD or email them to us at
