“Historic British Polar Expedition Seeks Corporate Team Member For 2004”
Planet Gold Events are proud to be supporting pole2pole, the inaugural event for a new ’21st Century Corporate Charity’ called The Muscular Help Foundation, destined to raise global awareness and funds for muscle disorders including Muscular Dystrophy. “We are absolutely thrilled to be associated with such a high profile event and look forward to supporting this worthy cause over the coming year”, said William Lawton, Managing Director. The amazing fact about this expedition too, is that it is the brainchild of business entrepreneur Miles Peckham and Hertfordshire based businessman, Muscular Dystrophy sufferer and personal friend Michael McGrath, who himself made history last year by reaching the North Pole in order to raise money for this condition.
Performance of organisations today
On his return, he received a phone call from the famous polar explorer Robert Swan OBE. “Now that you’ve done the North Pole, you MUST do the South Pole”. In response to this comment, the opportunity for extensive worldwide media coverage and being able to generate considerable awareness and vital funds, Michael has taken on the challenge and is set to re-write history by becoming the first disabled person in the world to conquer both North and South Poles in January 2004. Michael’s approach to this epic enterprise encompasses the business issues that affect the very performance of organisations today, namely – commitment, strong leadership, resilience, motivation and belief through talented people and teamwork.
Charity of the year
As Planet Gold’s chosen ‘Charity of the Year’ and through our partnership with Michael, we offer you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win an exclusive place to join an extraordinary fundraising expedition and plant your company flag at the South Pole. Michael’s team is nearly complete, except for ‘one vacancy’, which can only be filled by ‘special invitation’ to one ‘Corporate 100 Club ‘ member. Places are now becoming limited … pole2pole is already attracting a number of high profile individuals. These include the patronage of The Duchess of York. In addition, other endorsements include Kenneth Branagh and TV presenter Kate Humble who herself will be accompanying Michael on the expedition to help raise the profile of both the cause and The Muscular Help Foundation.
Speaking
If this is too extreme for you, perhaps you would like to help raise awareness and money by inviting Michael as an inspirational or motivational guest speaker to your next conference or special event. The Muscular Help Foundation Trust Fund will receive a percentage from all fees generated as a result of contracted speaking engagements booked through Planet Gold Events . “I can assure you that Michael’s energy and enormous passion will enhance and truly inspire those organisations requiring an ‘injection of motivation”, said William Lawton, Managing Director of Planet Gold.
