Back in June 2016, Izzy who lives with Muscular Dystrophy, his brother, Ibby and his dad, Irfan, took part in the charity’s Porsche Muscle Dreams Driving Experience Programme at the iconic Silverstone track, the home of British motor sport with hotel partner Whittlebury Hall providing their traditional warm and generous hospitality.
| Reflecting on the day, Izzy’s father Irfan said: “Thank you for the most amazing day ever!! You made our Muscle Dream come true!! “Words can’t describe how you all made my boys and I feel. We felt so special. It’s a funny old life, you struggle and struggle and struggle and then one day a dream comes along in the form of the Muscle Help Foundation charity, and makes you forget it all.” |
Izzy also received a signed photo from racing legend Lewis Hamilton too. Irfan says: “Having the photo of Lewis Hamilton is priceless, knowing he signed it for my Izzy. It will be cherished for life!”
Irfan credits the Porsche Muscle Dreams Driving Experience Programme driving experience with improving Izzy’s confidence, giving him a new skill, improving his self-esteem, and inspiring him to take up a new activity.
| One of the neuromuscular care advisers at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, part of NHS Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust has supported the family for many years, making a number of Muscle Dream nominations. They themselves have directly reinforced the positive effect the charity’s intervention through its Muscle Dream programme activities has had, stating in a letter to the charity that it was the first time the family had accessed such an experience and that it had left them… “riding high on adrenaline and excitement” … and that the family have been “rejuvenated and inspired”… for the long term by the experience |
