Muscle Portal

The MHF Muscle Portal is simply a web-based technology platform that will link everyone involved in muscle together, essentially an online global muscle community providing:

  • A knowledge base for those with muscle disorders
  • A centre for information for families
  • A focal point for anyone wishing to learn more about muscle
  • A support service for online chat, muscle blogging and for forums
  • Linking to other muscle related sites
  • Potential to build personalised sites
  • A revenue generator for The Muscular Help Foundation

The multi-level architecture will enable different user groups including the public, communities, charities and researchers to connect with each other

Data sources will include: the worldwide web, the muscle experts, the community and of course service providers

The platform will include: a knowledge base, online chat, community forums, conferencing, and search facility, pod-casting and content management

Services will include: online Q&A facility, online muscle education, support [on-line and off-line], discussion and a supplier directory

MUSCLE PORTAL OBJECTIVES FOR 2009 ... and beyond

We are aiming to recruit a primary technology partner together with a number of platform partners, for example Google and Wikipedia, to assist us in the design, software requirements, core content and implementation

In addition, we aim in time, to build alliances with other muscle related charities and create an attractive sponsorship product platform

It is envisaged that funding for this important and vital resource will come through specific sponsorship partners ie. Design, technology and platform build and from a multi-level corporate investment proposition that will offer an array of benefits to organisations seeking for example to enhance their brand equity by flexing their financial muscle accordingly
